HERC student named Clarendon Scholar

April 2009. Boston HERC is proud to announce that Stephanie Ramirez, one of the students in City Passage, HERC's mentoring program, has received a full scholarship to attend Gordon College through the Clarendon Scholars program (formerly New City Scholars). Clarendon Scholars is a program of Gordon College that partners with Boston-based ministries like the Emmanuel Gospel Center's Boston Education Collaborative and Boston HERC. Clarendon Scholars is designed to promote racial harmony and aids students "[t]hrough mentoring relationships, training and peer support, the students are helped to make the transition to college and given leadership experience to help ensure their success." Stephanie Ramirez has been mentored by Anna Scianna through Boston HERC's newly renamed "City Passage" mentoring program. Anna Scianna is a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA.

Gordon College is a highly esteemed school where we are confident Stephanie will be challenged and thrive. We pray God's continued blessing upon Stephanie as she enters into this new phase of her passage to maturity, and are thankful to God to be part of her life.
